Embercrown Saga
★★★★★ 4.5
Embercrown Saga is the kind of RPG you can play in ten-minute chunks without losing the plot. Battles are turn-based with a timing element — nail the tap window and your attacks hit harder, which keeps combat active instead of passive menu-poking.
Building a party is the real draw. Each companion has a distinct role, and swapping them around to counter tough fights felt like solving a little puzzle. The writing is light but charming, and it never buries you in walls of text.
It does nudge you toward grinding a bit in the mid-game, but nothing that a couple of side quests won't smooth over.
What we liked
- Snappy timing-based combat
- Deep, flexible party building
