Games built for the five-minute gap
Not every game needs to swallow an evening. Some of the best mobile experiences are designed around short bursts, and those tend to be the ones I keep installed the longest.
Arcade collections shine here because a single run is over in minutes, win or lose. Turn-based RPGs work too, as long as they don't dump a twenty-minute cutscene on you the moment you open the app.
The trick a good short-session game pulls off is instant resume. Open, tap once, you're playing. No forced login dance, no loading screen the size of a movie. That respect for your time is worth more than fancy graphics.
My current rotation is a drift racer for adrenaline, an arcade bundle for chaos, and a relaxed exploration game for winding down. Between the three, there's always something that fits the gap I've got.
